John Francis Smith, age 79, passed away Feb. 10, 2002 in Pompano Beach, FL, born in Chicago Aug. 23, 1922, Marine Corps Pilot, WWII, beloved husband of Frances Smith for 54 years; loving father of Carol Smith Hammond, Linda Smith, Susan Stewart (Ray) Rickelman, Frances (Edward) Brindle, John (Carole), James, Thomas (Carolyn) and Michael Smith; grandfather of 12; great-grandfather of five.
