George E. Murphy, died February 11, 2002 at Beaches Baptist, Jacksonville, FL, born February 11, 1933 in Park Ridge, IL to George and Ellen Murphy. He was of Christian faith with his family being his most important and precious asset. He graduated from Fenwick High, Chicago, attended Loras College, Dubuque, IA and was currently an enthusiastic student at UNF & FCCJ, Jacksonville pursuing his degree in History and Political Science. He was a life-long salesman of cosmetics, most recently as Murphy Sales representing numerous companies, retiring in Seattle, and moving to Jacksonville in 1998. Loving husband to Shirley Waters Oliver Murphy; Dad to Daniel of Seattle, Patrick (Megan) Murphy of Chicago and Edward (Jenny) Oliver of Jacksonville; Papa to Tyler, Shanon and Hayley Murphy of Chicago and Kristin Jacobson of Redmond, WA; Georgepa to Joshua (Stephanie) and Kaylyn, Jessie and Wesley Oliver of Jacksonville and Jennifer Oliver Goodwin of Atlanta; brother to Dolores M. Moeller of Tampa, Therese M. Stecz of Cincinnati, OH and Dr. Joseph Murphy of Taylorville, IL; brother-in-law to Raymond Eiden of Chicago. Local services will be held 2 p.m., Thursday, February 14 at Chapel Hardage-Giddens with Memorial Services at a later date in Chicago and Seattle.
