The real story of Enron is not about one corrupt company but of the corrupt corporate culture in our country. This culture lives on–practically requires–maximizing profits at the expense of people and the planet.

Enron created subsidiaries to avoid paying taxes. When American citizens cheat on their taxes, they’re considered unpatriotic and risk going to jail. When American corporations do this, it is considered good capitalism and their stock price goes up.

What other American corporations are doing this and what are we going to do about it? Or are we going to do nothing and continue to live in the United States of Corporate America?
