The Winter Olympics opening ceremony was very impressive. But I don’t think the Utah Symphony received any credit for a job well done. It’s very difficult for musicians to perform outside in cold weather for more than three hours. Cold fingers make it difficult for string players. And cold lips make it difficult for woodwind and brass players. So bravo to the Utah Symphony.
