Thank you for Paul Simon’s voice of reason on priorities of the Bush administration as reflected in the federal budget.
Sadly, it seems that even Colin Powell, whom I believe is the most moderate and thoughtful person in the Bush administration, has now been co-opted by the saber-rattling faction. I would hope for more enlightened leaders from both parties who understand that we live in a global community and “our own national interests” (as the president likes to say) are only valid when considered in light of world interests.
