Mary Kulak, nee Kusek, age 87, beloved wife of the late John “Jaski”; cherished mother of Marianne (Ira) King and Tony (Mary Pat); loving grandmother of Dan (Jenny), Carolyne, Aileen (Ted), Matt, Andy (Michelle), Marty and Alyssa; great-grandmother of Leah, Olivia, Emmett, Michael and Patrick; dear sister of Carol (Victor) Janosek, Sophie (Shimmers) Symezak and the late Walter (Jo), John (Sophie) and Millie (Stanley) Toff; fond aunt of many nieces and nephews. Known as a swimmer, diver and winner of beauty contests, at 70, Mary returned to school for a GED and also got her driver’s license. She was an artist and poet who enjoyed working cross-word puzzles, picking mushrooms, watching Jeopardy, and playing cards with her sisters. She loved her country house and feeling God’s creatures and will be remembered for her big smile, gentle nature and pierogi. Funeral Services Friday, 9 a.m. from Zefran Funeral Home, 1941 W. Cermak Rd., to St. Adalbert Church. Mass 9:30 a.m. Entombment Resurrection Cemetery.
