Bernice J. Colberg, nee Zeman, age 87, Monday, Feb. 18, 2002 at Deerbrook Nursing Centre, survived by her daughter, Barbara (Lee) Perignon of Plainfield; two grandchildren, Kurt and Stacy Perignon; nephew, John (Sally) Ratz; preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy A. Colberg; parents, Jacob and Gertrude, nee Abelson, Zeman; sister, Irene Ratz; and brother-in-law, Henry Ratz. Born in Benton Harbor, MI, where she was raised on a farm. Living in Joliet area for 20 years. Member of St. John Lutheran Church, former member of Faith Lutheran Church. Member of Plainfield American Legion Auxiliary. Bernice loved gardening flowers and vegetables. Lying in state Thursday, Feb. 21, 2002 at St. John Lutheran Church, 2650 Plainfield Rd., Joliet, at 10:30 a.m. until time of Services at 11 a.m. Entombment Woodlawn Memorial Park. Visitation Wednesday 3 to 9 p.m. at the Blackburn Giegerich Sonntag Funeral Home.
