Marilyn J. Soderstrom, nee Schoof, age 64, passed away on February 18, 2002, born August 2, 1937 in LaGrange, IL. Marilyn is survived by husband Norm; sons, Jon (Cindy) and Jeff (Mary); grandchildren, Erik, Lucy and Elsa; and sister, Carol (Don). Marilyn was raised in LaGrange Park. She met Norm while both worked at Brookfield Zoo. Marilyn, a graduate of Augustana College in Rock Island, taught for many years in Arlington Heights – District 25. She also worked at Ticor Title Ins. Co., Schaumburg, and at Harris Pharmacy, Arlington Heights. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 23, at 1 p.m. at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, 1234 N. Arlington Heights, Rd., in Arlington Heights. A gathering of family and friends will begin at 12 p.m. at the church and the service will be followed by a reception. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation in Marilyn’s name be made to Brookfield Zoo, 3300 Golf Rd., Brookfield, IL 60513, Attn: David Terrill.
