Albert D. Vandermolen, 70, of Holland, joined his Heavenly Father on February 20, 2002, born on December 16, 1931, in Chicago, IL, to Albert and Dena Vandermolen, Al graduated from Austin High School in Chicago in 1950. He proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War and was a member of West Side Reformed Church in Cicero, IL. He was a member of Beechwood Reformed Church in Holland, MI since 1969, singing in the choir, teaching Sunday School, leading Youth Group and serving both as a deacon and elder. He founded Prestige Pattern & Model Inc., in 1969 and expanded with Prestige Vacuum Forming Division in 1978. Al was a member of the Holland Country Club, the Holland Chamber of Commerce, Holland Windmill Chorus, and was a PTA President at Beechwood Elementary School in the 1970’s. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanette, in 1963; and his father Albert Sr. in 1983; Al is survived by his wife, Ginger; children, Deb and Don Owen of Marne, MI, Laura and Mike Cramer, David and Lori Vandermolen, and Pete and Kim Vandermolen, all of Holland; grandchildren, Nicole and Luke Vanzo, Andrew Owen, Emily and Dean Cramer, Josie and Sam Vandermolen, and Elyssa and Izabel Vandermolen; he is also survived by his mother, Dena Vandermolen of Downers Grove, IL; sister Dee and Alan Brody of Chicago, IL; mother-in-law Theresa and Harold Borgman of Holland; sisters-in-law Frieda DeVries of Thornton, IL, Theresa Folkerts of Lockport, IL, Joan and Tom Muller of Blue Island, IL; brothers-in-law John Slinkman of Downers Grove, IL, Jim and Marilyn Ronda of Holland and Ray and Nancy Ronda of Lombard, IL; several aunts; uncles; cousins; nieces; and nephews. Funeral services will be Saturday, February 23, at 11 a.m. at Beechwood Reformed Church, 895 Ottawa Beach Road, Holland, MI, with the Revs. Larry Terlouw and Marv Beukelman officiating. Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be on Friday, February 22, from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Dykstra Northwood Chapel, 295 Douglas Avenue, Holland, MI.
