Frances J. Nostrand, nee Frye, age 68, passed away peacefully February 19, 2002, beloved wife of the late William O. Nostrand; cherished mother of Matthew (Anne), Kristen and Clifford (Julie); proud grandmother of Connor, Parker, Morgan and Adam; dear sister of Helen Williams; kind sister-in-law of Robert Taylor; fond aunt of many nieces and nephews. Born to William P. and Frances Frye on May 20, 1933; her formative years were spent on Chicago’s North Side where she graduated from Senn High School. Upon graduating from Hope College in Holland, MI, Frances began a teaching career that included schools in MI, HW and Chicago’s western suburbs. She married William in 1960 and they spent most of their lives raising their children in Western Springs. Most recently she was active in the Niceville, FL community where she and Bill had retired in 1990. She humbly understated the number of lives she touched, but from former students to her family, bridge and golf partners alike, and many friends, she will be greatly missed. Visitation will be held Friday, February 22, from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Hallowell and James Funeral Home, 1025 W. 55th St., Countryside, IL. Funeral Mass will be said Saturday, February 23, 11:15 a.m. at St. John of the Cross Church, 5005 S. Wolf Rd., Western Springs. Interment Mount Olivet Cemetery.
