Walter J. Phillips, M.D., age 87, WWII Major, Army Medical Corps., Bronze Star Award recipient, beloved husband of the late Helen M. Phillips, nee Petkus; loving father of Diane J. Phillips (Mark A. Uhryk); dear brother-in-law of the late Edward (Geraldine) Petkus. Dr. Phillips was a physician and surgeon in industrial medicine practice from 1938 until his retirement in 1990. He served as Medical Director at Joseph T. Ryerson & Co., Inland Steel, Chicago from 1946-1984. Past President of the Chicago Bowling Association and a Charter Member, Cardinal Mundelein Knights of Columbus, 1947-present.
