Mickey M. Surdyk, age 78, of Vernon Hills IL, formerly of Calumet City IL, passed away Sunday Feb 17, 2002 at Condell Medical Center in Libertyville IL. He was preceded in death by his wife Helen; and is survived by two daughters, Kathleen (Richard) Wells of Dekalb IL and Shirley (Wayne) Stone of St. John IN; one son, Thomas (Susan) Surdyk of Libertyville IL; grandchildren, Mark (Renee) Johnson, Erin Johnson, Christine Wells, Robyn Wells, Geoffrey Wells, David Surdyk and Alan Surdyk; great-grandchildren Nicholas and Tori Johnson; brother Claire Surdyk; cousin Charlene Haub; nieces and nephews. Mr. Surdyk served as Street Commissioner of Calumet City IL for 23 years before retiring in 1986. Cremation and memorial service will be held privately for the immediate family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in his name may be sent to Condell Health Care Foundation/ICU Fund or Open Heart Fund, 801 S. Milwaukee Ave. Libertyville IL 60048.
