Thomas A. Buettner, age 61, passed away Saturday, Feb. 23, 2002 after an exhaustive battle with lung cancer, survived by his best friend and dearest wife Bernice; devoted son of the late Agnes and Louis Buettner; trusting nephew of Celia and the late George Thommes; many loyal friends, cousins, sisters-in-law, nephews and nieces. Tom could have taken the easy way out, he was strong and persistent, with courage and no regard for his own pain. Tom sacrificed himself to avoid leaving his dearest wife. Graduate of Loyola University, Accounting major. Funeral Wednesday 9:15 a.m. from Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home, 185 E. Northwest Hwy., Palatine, to St. Anne Church, 120 N. Ela Rd., Barrington for Mass at 10 a.m. Entombment Resurrection Cemetery.
