Adm. William Owens, former vice chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, will present “Science and Politics of the World Around Us, Post Sept. 11” at 7:30 p.m. March 12 in the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy Auditorium. Owens will discuss the national security challenges facing the United States after Sept. 11 and the important role that America’s dominance in science and technology have and will play in addressing those challenges. Owens is co-chief executive officer and vice chairman of Teledesic LLC. The academy is at 1500 Sullivan Rd., Aurora. Admission is $8 adults, $5 seniors and free for students with an I.D.
