Edward Albert Klunder, 85, passed away at his residence on Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2002, in Gladstone, MO. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, March 2, 2002 at 600 NE 46th St., (the original Northland Cathedral). Burial will be in Mt. Moriah Terrace Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Northcare Hospice at North Kansas City Hospital or American Heart Association. Mr. Klunder was born April 28, 1916 in Cicero, IL. He married Wanda Smith on June 25, 1939 in Terhune, IN. Mr. Klunder worked for Caine’s Steel Company in Chicago, IL. Mr. and Mrs. Klunder moved to Kansas City in 1961 where with a partner opened a North American Van Lines Franchise. Later he sold his equity in the business and went to work for All American Transport where he retired in 1982. He was a member of Northland Cathedral. He and his wife taught Children’s Sunday School, he was involved in the Men’s Ministries and volunteered in all aspects of the church community. Mr. Klunder is preceded in death by one daughter, Sandra Lou Klunder; he is survived by his wife, Wanda Mae of Gladstone; four daughters, Beverly Wiegand (James), Charlene Bassett (Leonard), Brenda Klunder all of Kansas City and Sue Minks (Jerry) of Holt, MO and one son, Edward A. Klunder Jr., of Kansas City, MO; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Marie Telfair, Chicago, IL, Theo Vandy, Harrison, AR and brother, Tom Ostrowski, Chicago, IL. Mt.
