Edwin J. Kurek, retired after 34 years of service from the Chicago Bureau of Streets and Sanitation, died on Monday, Feb. 25, was the beloved husband of Betty L.; loving father of Bonnie Cawley, Eileen Barreuther, Darlene Pretzer and Alex; dear grandfather of Ed, Scott, Carrie Ann, Brian, Michael, Deneen, the late William Jr. and Michael W.; dear great-grandfather of Ashley, Rachel, Jessica, Bayley and Hunter; fond brother of Evelyn Kuperwicz, Jozef and Casey Kurek. A private memorial service will be held for family members by invitation. In lieu of flowers make donations to Childrens Memorial Hospital or your favorite charity.
