At a small gathering the other evening, a chap asked me how old I was. Of course I demurred to answer, but he pressed further. To ease the situation without rancor, I said I would at least provide him with information that would give him some idea, stating:
“When I was a young lad, it was during the years when most of the media reported things as they were, rather than what they would have liked them to be. It was an era when most Democrat politicians were men of honor, and honest in their dealings with each other, and the other party.”
The chap’s response was, “Gosh! You must really be old!”
He was right . . .
