Marc Lichtenstein was way off base when he made the comparison of the Oakland Raiders’ playoff loss to the Patriots to that of the Olympic figure skating controversy (“Amateur sports,” Voice of the people, Feb. 22). He failed to realize that the Raiders lost because of one very bad call near the end of the game. Their fate wasn’t determined before the opening kickoff.
