An 18-year-old Aurora man has been convicted of aggravated battery and mob action in connection with the July 22 beating of a Glen Ellyn man in downtown Naperville.
A DuPage County jury deliberated for six hours Thursday before convicting Abraham Zacatzi shortly before midnight. The jury acquitted Zacatzi of aggravated battery of the victim’s girlfriend.
Zacatzi, who faces up to 5 years in prison, was one of four Aurora men charged in connection with the crime. Two men pleaded guilty, and the trial of the last man is pending.
