Robert Lee Wallace, beloved husband of Wanda, died March 2, 2002. Born September 28, 1922 in Moline, IL. Resident of Homewood for 50 years. Served in U.S.M.C. in Radio Intelligence at Iwo Jima, Guadalcanal and Guam during WWII. Married Wanda Washburn Foote in 1946. Received B.S. From Augustana College, Rock Island in 1952. Retired in 1984 as Director of Revenue Accounting at Commonwealth Edison after 32 years of service. Nine year member Board of Education, Homewood School District #153. Member of the American Legion. Illinois Table Tennis Doubles Champion, 1940. Pocket Billiards Champion, Senior Olympics, representing Homewood Park District, 1991. Member of St. Paul Community Church in Homewood. Survived by his wife, Wanda; daughters, Kathleen Sjoerdsma of Woodland Park, CO, Mary Susan Wallace of Homewood, Linda Wallace (Donald Cyman) of Homewood, sons Daniel Foote (Claudia Binter) of Naperville, IL, John Wallace (Ellen Rashbaum) of San Francisco, CA, Robert L. Wallace (Joy Cooper) of Pacifica, CA; 14 grandchildren; 10 greatgrandchildren. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to PADF Homeless Coalition, P.O. Box 1176, Homewood, IL 60430. Visitation 1 p.m. Wednesday March 6 and 2 p.m. Memorial service at St. Paul’s Community Church, 18200 Dixie Hwy., Homewood, IL.
