Three cheers for Clarence Page’s open letter to professional hatemonger Pat Robertson (“Dear Pat, jihads aren’t just for Muslims,” Commentary, Feb. 27). Robertson has decided to declare open season on Muslims and all things Islamic, whether by selectively misquoting the Koran or in suggesting that Osama Bin Laden is representative of true Islam.
As an American Muslim, I can only say that my disgust at his message of hatred and xenophobia is only tempered by the fact that he has little credibility remaining with the American public.
Robertson is simply the flip side of the same coin as the mullahs of Saudi Arabia; his vision of America as a Christian theocracy offers nothing more than the Taliban offered Afghanistan.
