Pearl L. Jimenez, to the loving memory of Pearl L. Jimenez, August 11, 1909 to March 2, 2002, awarded a Master’s degree in Spanish language and literature at the 210 convocation of the University of Chicago, September 11, 1942. She began teaching elementary school of Chicago Board of Education. Taught at DuSable High School, for over 30 years. “To witness the development of the chrysalis of the mind nurished with the feast of learning, served by generations of dedicated teachers, is to witness the immortality of the human spirit.” From her loved ones: you did what you came to do, to learn, to teach, to strive. You did what you came to do. From her parents and elders she learned to care, to be up and doing, to do more than her share. Helping her loved ones and her students their future find. She did what she came to do. She now lives on in memory. To visions true she did what she came to do. Sadly missed by the Anderson, Dowding, Harris, Jimenez, Pearson, Wrights. Funeral held at St. Clotilde, Wednesday March 6, 10 a.m.
