Rita J. Tierney, nee Jordan, 85, of the Northwest side, formerly of Help of Christians parish in the Austin neighborhood, passed away on March 4, 2002, beloved wife of the late Raymond; loving mother of Thomas (Bernadette), William (Rita), Robert, John (Loretta) and the late Raymond (Nancy); dearest grandmother of 16; and great-grandmother of eight; fond aunt of many nieces and nephews. Active parishioner at Our Lady Mother of the Church. 1998 inductee of the Citizen’s Hall of Fame of Chicago. Well known for her years of enjoyment at Eli’s Cheesecakes.
