John “Hunter” Arabshian, died March 4, of Waupaca, WI, formerly of Chicago, born May 7, 1924 “Riis Park Neighborhood”, son of the late Michael and Miriam, nee Vartabedian. Graduate of Steinmetz HS and proudly served in the U.S. Navy, WWII, Submarine Class, So. Pacific. Hunter owned and operated “Hunters” Body & Fender Shop at 6343 W. Grand Ave. Chicago for 30 years. Retired to Waupaca, WI 1974. Married Noreen F. Menard in 1954 and raised five children, Noreen (Prybylo), Michael “Hunter”, Judy (Ralph Barreto), Patricia (Kevin Arient) Borges and John; adored grandfather of nine; preceded in death by his sister Mary Therese; survived by brothers Philip (Barbara) and Sam; sisters, Florence and Anna; fond uncle and great uncle of many nieces and nephews. Proud member of the Waupaca VFW Post #1037. His sons Michael and John continue their father’s legacy of owning and operating Airport Auto Body, Inc. Schiller Pk, IL and Airport Auto Sales, Inc. Waupaca, WI. Hunter enjoyed his many friends in Chicago and Waupaca and will be missed by many. Service held with Military Guard. Private Interment, King’s Military Cemetery. Anchors Away, ‘Hunter’.
