John D. Lager, age 54, at rest March 13, at his home in Lisle, IL. Beloved husband of Joan, nee Baldwin; loving father of Cheri (Jim) Niewiara and Kendall; stepfather of Megan Selby; devoted grandfather of Matthew and Claire; dearest brother of Sandra Welte, Nancy Dahlstrom and Joyce Henry; dear nephew of four aunts; fond uncle and great-uncle of several nieces and nephews. Mr. Lager was a 1970 graduate of the University of Illinois at Chicago and received his MBA at Keller Graduate School in 1984. He was a pharmacist at Rush Presbyterian St. Luke’s Hospital in Chicago. He was co-founder of a summer camp for adults in Saugatuck, MI, an avid athlete who ran in the Chicago Marathon and rode RAGBRAI seven times and a devoted duplicate bridge player. Funeral services Friday 8 p.m. at Blake-Lamb Funeral Home, Rt. 53 & Short St., Lisle. Visitation Friday 2 p.m. till time of service. Memorial service Saturday 1 p.m. at Dupage Unitarian Universalist Church, 4S. 535 Old Naperville Rd., Naperville, memorial luncheon to follow.
