The Roselle Library Board is seeking comment from residents in developing a five-year strategic plan.
Kenneth Gross, the library’s executive director, said that community suggestions are encouraged and that he hopes for additional comment informal board chats scheduled for April 7 and 27. The board already has held two similar sessions
“Our previous sessions have only attracted about half a dozen people so far,” Gross said. “We have drafted a strategic plan but would like to make sure it reflects the needs of the community before it is approved.”
Gross said highlights of the plan include: partnering the library with more community organizations and businesses; adding more electronic services; including remote access to the library’s online catalog; and expanding programming for all age groups.
“We are also looking at getting input by adding a survey, where people could just touch a screen and enter suggestions or choices into a computer,” Gross said. “The goal is to keep moving on the services people want now, as well as in the future.”
The April 7 session is to begin at 7 p.m. and the April 27 at 10 a.m., both in the library.
Officials expect a plan to be approved this summer.
