Robert C. Smith, 74, of DeKalb, passed away Tuesday, March 12, 2002 at his home. He was born May 24, 1927 in Chicago, the son of Calvin and Christine, nee Stella, Smith. He married Marilyn Jones on April 1, 1951 at the First United Methodist Church of DeKalb. He was a Veteran of WWII, serving in the United States Marine Corps, stationed in China. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn; his two children, Robert C. (Cathy) Smith Jr. of Plainfield and Cathy Hunt of Montgomery; seven grandchildren, Anne, Stacey, Katie, Christopher and Michael Smith, David and Tanya Hunt. He was preceded in death by his parents. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2002 at 10:30 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church of DeKalb, with the Rev. Kitty Ganzel officiating.
