It is sad and disappointing to see the vicious negative political ads the Illinois public is subjected to. While listening to the TV in the morning, I heard more than 10 mudslinging ads in less than an hour.

Besides beginning my day with a sour feeling, I walked away with no real grip on what the candidates stand for.

Although I might be tempted to not vote in response to how some of the candidates have presented themselves, my reaction will be to research on my own the platforms of the political candidates because they are making no effort to educate the public. I may also just cast my votes for those who have not participated in these ads.

What all of the candidates have in common (at least I hope) is that they want to work for the community. To them I would say, please stop forcing the ugliness in your ads on us; we have seen enough cruelty in the world.
