NASCAR superstar Jeff Gordon denies that the breakup of his seven-year marriage has been a factor in his dismal start to the Winston Cup season.
A divorce petition filed Friday by his wife, Brooke, in Palm Beach County, Fla., claims the marriage is “irretrievably broken as a result of the husband’s marital misconduct,” the Palm Beach Post reported.
Gordon, 30, declined to comment.
The four-time and reigning Winston Cup champion, with 58 career victories, hasn’t even finished in the top five in the five Winston Cup races run this season.
Brooke Sealey Gordon, 32, seeks alimony, exclusive use of their $9 million oceanfront home in Highland Beach, Fla., plus two luxury cars and use of Gordon’s Falcon 200 private jet, the Post reported. The couple has no children.
