Edward Chandler, 70, of Grayslake passed away Sunday, March 17, 2002 at his residence. Born January 31, 1932 in Chicago. A former longtime resident of Evanston and after retirement he moved to Palm Harbor, FL. Retiring from Peoples Gas Company where he was employed as a systems analyst in the engineering department with over 40 years of service. A member of St. Gilbert Catholic Church in Grayslake and a member of the Corvette Club of America. An avid Scuba Diver and was an instructor for 25 years. He leaves his daughters, Gail (Andy) Pitts of Clifton, IL, Karen Chandler of Grayslake and Susan Chandler also of Grayslake, sons, Mark (Gail) Chandler of Grayslake; four grandchildren; and several sisters and brothers; numerous nieces and nephews; and his dear friend Jean Witek. Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 22, 2002 at the Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium, 410 E. Belvidere Rd., Grayslake, IL 60030 with Rev. Fr. Robert Beaven officiating. Interment will follow at Ascension Catholic Cemetery, Libertyville, IL. Friends of the family may visit at the Funeral Chapel on Thursday from 5 to 9 p.m. 847-223-8122.
