Thanks to CBS for showing “9/11” on March 10. I watched with teary eyes the bravery of New York and our nation. The network tastefully presented the tragedy through the eyes of two cameramen, as they originally thought they were documenting the courage of a new fireman learning the ropes.
When I talked to a cousin a few days after Sept. 11, she said that while the rest of us could go on with our lives in other cities, the people of New York were suffering dearly. As they walked Manhattan streets, they still found tons of debris. They saw a woman’s shoe, someone’s wallet, human remains, missing-person signs and makeshift memorials everywhere.
They opened their hearts to kindness and felt the world’s embrace.
I personally thank CBS for bringing us closer to how they felt. In doing so, I believe it will help us further rally behind our soldiers and will help us treasure the lives we have with our families even more.
