Now that the tough primary battles are behind us, we must ask if there are lessons to be learned. Many of us hope that the negative ads and personal attacks will be put aside for the November election. Such actions keep potential voters out of the political process.

It is time for the candidates to truly energize the voters by presenting themselves and their positions on the real issues in a strong, yet clean campaign.

The challenges on the local, state and national level are very real. Let’s show the terrorists and the rest of the world that Americans love democracy and are willing to exercise our most precious liberty–the right to fairly select our leaders.
