I recently moved to the Chicago area from New York, a state not exactly known for its transparent politics. But the primary election has convinced me that New York is strictly bush-league compared to Illinois. I found it appalling that Lisa Madigan and Rod Blagojevich, two candidates whose qualifications begin and end with their family ties to prominent members of the Democratic machine, could obtain their nominations.

I will now give their Republican opponents serious consideration in the general election.

I wonder how many others like myself will be driven away from the Democratic Party by the stench emitted from its candidates?
