Stephen C. Farmer, 55, of Lake Barrington, IL and Levering, MI died Friday morning, March 22, 2002 at the home of relatives in Mt. Summit. He was a 1964 graduate of Blue River Valley High School. He graduated from Ball State University in 1968 and from Northwestern University School of Law in 1974. He served in the U.S. Army, 1968 to 1971. He practiced law in Chicago, 1974 to 1981, and was an investment banker with John Nuveen Investment Bank, 1981 to 1999. He was presently employed with U.S. Bancorp Piper Jaffray, where he was Managing Director for the Chicago office. His main area of interest while practicing law was hospital finance. He was on the Board of Trustees at Northwestern University School of Law. Survivors include his wife, Linda K. Farmer of Lake Barrington, IL; father, Cleo Farmer; sister; brother; a niece and three nephews. Funeral mass will be 10:30 a.m., Monday, March 25, 2002 at St. Anne Catholic Church, New Castle, IN. Burial will follow at Mt. Summit Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m., Sunday at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle, IN.
