The voters have spoken–and the voters rejected the Tribune’s endorsed candidates for governor.
The Tribune endorsed Corinne Wood in the Republican primary. She finished last. The Tribune endorsed Paul Vallas in the Democratic primary. Vallas also lost.
It seems the Tribune editorial board is out of touch with what the average voter, Democrat or Republican, is thinking.
Memo to future candidates: Don’t worry about conforming your issue positions to what the Tribune editorial board is pushing. Their endorsement isn’t worth the bother–it just doesn’t pull any weight anymore. In fact, the endorsement might cost candidates votes.
