Erna Sanders, nee Lotter, 88, a resident of Chicago and Evergreen Park, IL for many years, passed into eternal peace Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2002 at Lemont Center. She was born Oct. 6, 1913 in Chicago, IL. Erna was a homemaker and a member of Nazareth Lutheran Church (Chicago) and United By Faith Lutheran Church (Evergreen Park, formerly Bethel). She is survived by her children, Laneta (Howard) Piecuch of New Lenox, IL, James F. (Barbara) of Plainfield, IL and LaVonne (LeRoy) Pautsch of Burlington, WI; five granddaughters; three sisters, Lorraine Wehrmeister, Lois Kaminske and Lucille Passarelli; a sister-in-law, Edna Lotter; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband James in 1986; her grandson Steven in 1984; and her brother Ferdinand Lotter. A funeral service with immediate family was held Saturday, March 2. Rev. Jeffrey Koth, of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Waukegan, IL officiated. Erna was laid to rest at Chapel Hill Gardens South with her husband, father and mother, brother, brothers-in-law and grandson. A graveside service in memory of Steven on his birth date (born March 2, 1970) followed.
