Rhea L. Temkin, at rest in Palo Alto on March 23, 2002. A native of Kansas City, MO, she was 83 years of age. Beloved wife of the late David Temkin; devoted mother of Douglas Temkin, Andrea S. Temkin and Mitch Temkin (Rhea Leonard); loving grandmother of Amina; dear sister of Judith Kahn (Alfred) of Des Plaines, IL and the late Bert Masor. “Grammy” was “short and sweet”. Her creativity and interest in trying new things never diminished. She played the piano, gardened, drew, painted, quilted, crocheted, and decorated cakes, all the while humming happily to herself. Most of all, she brightened the life of each person she came in contact with, taking everywhere her ready smile, delightful sense of humor, and good complexion. Friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service on Monday, April 1, 2002 at 11 a.m., “Chapel of Light” in Skylawn Memorial Park, Highway 92 at Skyline in San Mateo. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations in her name to Community School of Music & Arts, 253 Martens Ave., Mountain View, CA 94040 or to the charity of your choice.
