When James Warren wrote about the anti-Semitic comments that Billy Graham made about 30 years ago during a meeting with President Nixon (News, March 2), he showed respect for Graham.

Graham would be the first to remind us that the Bible states that all of us fall far short of the glory of God. Graham has never claimed to be like God or Jesus Christ. Don’t we all hold some attitudes that flare up from time to time that are not becoming to the person we want to be or that we want others to see?

Evil lurks in all of us. That is why Graham tells us all we need a savior and that is Jesus Christ. Our only means of fighting back against the evil inside us is to admit and be sorry for our mistakes and to ask forgiveness. Billy Graham has done that.

I am sort of glad that Graham slipped up. It is good for all of us who are grubbing around in this world to see that even Billy Graham, is capable of making a mistake.
