Ralph Mabbs, 83, formerly of Barrington, IL, died peacefully on Feb. 21, 2002, surrounded by loving family. Memorial Services will take place at 11 a.m. on April 19, 2002 at St. Michael Episcopal Church, 647 Dundee Avenue, Barrington. Mr. Mabbs was born on March 25, 1918 in St. Louis, MO. A graduate of Northwestern University School of Business, he was an executive with Illinois Bell Telephone Company (Ameritech) for 36 years. After retirement he became Executive Director of Episcopal Charities for the Dioceses of Chicago. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Barbara, nee Birge, Mabbs; two daughters, Barbara (Daniel) Robinson and Linda Mabbs Hunt; and a grandson, Matthew R. Clark.
