Malvene Raphael, born March 4, 1908, in Chicago, died April 13, 2002, beloved wife for 71 years of Dr. Theodore Raphael; dearest mother of Judith Raphael (Tony Phillips), Susan Duarte Berry (Tom Berry) and Diana (Dan) Lauber; dear grandmother of Leslie and Alex Gordon, Gabriel Duarte, Christopher and Matthew Wienke; great-grandmother of Alana and Austin; loving sister of Evelyn Newman and the late Emil Pollak. Mrs. Raphael attended the School of the Art Institute of Chicago; taught in Chicago public and parochial schools as well as special workshops at Fort Sheridan, IL. Member of the Park Ridge Art League exhibiting her work locally. Funeral services Wednesday, 1 p.m., at The Piser Chapel, 9200 N. Skokie Blvd. (at Church St.), Skokie. Interment Westlawn Cemetery.
