The Village Board has appointed an interim village manager.
Dawn Wucki-Rossbach, 36, assistant to the village manager for the past two years, will replace Fire Chief John Schuldt.
Schuldt, who has held the manager’s job since May, will keep his Fire Department duties. He announced his resignation effective May 1 after a heated exchange last month with two trustees over an employee compensation study.
Wucki-Rossbach will start her new position May 6, when she returns from maternity leave.
The resident of unincorporated Cook County will be paid $90,000 a year until a permanent placement is found. Her old salary was $45,961.
The board, which has spent $20,000 on a manager search, agreed to allocate another $10,000 toward the search, conducted by Mercer Group in Atlanta.
Trustees also amended an ordinance to correct miscalculated employee raises, after a trustee discovered that some raises were different than originally proposed.
