Ralph J. Durso, 70 of Mt. Prospect, died Thursday, April 18th, 2002 at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights. He was born June 15th, 1931 in Chicago to Salvatore and Marietta (Valenti) Durso. On November 9th, 1952 he married Jean Campanella in Chicago. Ralph was a Veteran of the US Army and served during the Korean War. He was the owner of R&S Plumbing Inc. in Mt. Prospect for the last 28 years. Mr Durso was a member of St. Emily Catholic Church in Mt Prospect. He was a member of the Mt Prospect Mens Bowling League, the St. Raymond Mens Bowling League and the Twilight Mens Golf League in Mt Prospect. He was an avid gardener and loved his flowers and rose bushes. Survivors include his wife Jean of 49 years of Mt. Prospect; his mother Marietta Durso of Lincolnwood; four children Salvatore M. (Anna Carcione) Durso of West Chicago, James E. (Diana MacDonald) Durso of Fox River Grove, Marietta D. (Craig) Calas of Long Grove, Keith J. (Nancy Drafall) Durso of Gilberts, IL, six grandchildren Nicole, Brian, Danielle, Andrew, Steven and Allison along with many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his sister Nancy Durso and his father Salvatore Durso. A Memorial Service will be held Monday April 22nd, 2002 at 5 p.m. at St. Emily Catholic Church, 1400 E. Central Rd. Des Plaines. 800-631-3344 Ralphs final act of kindness was to donate his body to the Anatomical Gift Association of Illinois. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family.
