About the academy: Since 1883, the Des Plaines-based institution has cared for children orphaned by fire and disease, and children who are wards of the state, abandoned, abused or neglected. The MC: Comedian Tom Dreesen. Guest highlights: A bevy of Chicago Bears and world-class professional billiards champs Ewa “The Striking Viking” Mataya Laurance and Johnny “The Scorpion” Archer, who competed in three 9-ball matches.
