Drunkenness and brawling in the stands is more common at Wrigley Memorial Fun Park than at Comiskey Park, regardless of what Rick Morrissey says (Tribune, April 19). Those were not White Sox fans brawling last week but more likely out-of-town Indians fans who always make a showing with each Sox-Indians series in Chicago.

As for the attendance, you Tribune writers just don’t get it, do you? The bottom line for the low attendance is the location of the park, a depressed and unsafe area. Try having the Cubs play a season at Comiskey Park and the White Sox play a season at Wrigley and see who would draw more people.

The bottom line is good baseball. The Sox have had better teams for the last 20 to 25 years. We White Sox fans go to watch good baseball, not to listen to has-been celebrity singers or to see the white flag go up for rare victories or to watch Mr. Wonderful, Sammy So-So, hit long home runs and then bunny-hop.

When the Sox are going well, write good things about them. Don’t detract from the good by trying to find fault with things that have nothing to do with the game.
