Kudos to Sam Smith for enlightening readers with the post-NBA achievements of Sidney Green (Tribune, April 15). In the NBA almanac, and certainly around here, Green goes down as a draft bust and a disappointment. However, Sam’s article reveals that far more good can be done in a college classroom than on an NBA hardwood.
Like Sam, I think Green would have been perfect fit for DePaul’s program. Even though he didn’t get the job, I think it is more important to hear about these types of stories than, say, a scandal at the University of Michigan.
