Robert “R.N.” Johnson, 89, of Barrington Hills, at rest April 20, 2002, R.N. Johnson graduated from Lane Tech in 1932 and studied at the Art Institute. He was a “dancing usher” at the Chicago Theather. In WWII he painted murals and watercolors of the South Seas for the Navy. He founded R.N. Johnson Advertising (currently in Arlington Heights). He loved golf and running (two miles daily till age 87). Beloved husband of the late Ruth E., nee Swanson; devoted father of Janice C. (Lasse) Verho, Gregory R. (Nancy); cherished grandfather of five; loving brother of Katherine Nelson. Visitation Tuesday, 4 to 8 p.m., at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 149 West Main Street (LakeCook Road), Barrington.
