Grace M. Freeman, 86, a former resident of Chicago, died April 19, 2002 in Oakland, CA. She was born March 23, 1916 in Chicago and graduated in 1941 from Northwestern University, Evanston, IL, where she received a Masters in Social Work. She was a retired Social Worker and was a member of the Illinois Orchid Society, Board of Highland Park Mental Health Assn., organized charitable events and marched for civil rights in Selma, AL with Dr. Martin Luther King. She was a patron of the Arts and a prize winning orchid grower. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Arthur S. Freeman; one daughter, Nancy G. Freeman; one grandson, Diego L. Rocamora; and two great-grandchildren, Mateo Rocamora and Gabriella Grace Rocamora. Private services are planned. Arrangements by Sinai Memorial Chapel, Lafayette, CA.
