As a result of a promise made during last year’s playoff run, Kane County Cougars general manager Jeff Sedivy will shave his head before Sunday’s 2 p.m. game against the Clinton LumberKings at Elfstrom Stadium in Geneva.
Under the guidance of a professional barber, fans will have the opportunity to buy the chance to shave some of Sedivy’s hair (while it lasts), with proceeds benefiting Juvenile Diabetes.
“At the end of the regular season last year, I told the team and our fans that if the Cougars won the championship, I would shave my head come Opening Day,” Sedivy said. But Opening Day was rained out, so Sedivy pushed it back to 1:45 p.m. Sunday.
“This is great,” said Sara Donhowe of the Chicago chapter of Juvenile Diabetes. “I don’t think we have ever been a beneficiary of a head-shaving.”
Not so fast
Agent David Schwab denied Russian tennis player Anna Kournikova had posed nude for the June edition of Penthouse magazine.
“The magazine has committed numerous violations of Miss Kournikova’s rights, including portraying her in a false light,” Schwab said. “We will take all appropriate actions to protect our client’s name, rights and image.”
