In his April 24 letter to the editor, Edwin Colfax incorrectly states that no reforms to the death penalty can eliminate the risk of executing the innocent.
There is one reform that is simple, would save the taxpayers millions of dollars yearly and would eliminate this risk once and for all:
Abolish the death penalty.
