After reading the responses received to the annual Take Our Daughters to Work Day (“Inviting boys onto girls’ turf may not work,” Metro, April 26), one thing concerns me. Several comments were made by young girls that they preferred the outside work world over being “just a stay-at-home mom.”
Without even realizing it, we, as females, degrade the awesome responsibility that is motherhood with those six detrimental words. We need to stop perpetuating that idea and stop using that phrase.
